Day 285: Bokeelia, FL

Sunny and hot.

Julie’s Gift

There are some beautiful planters of flowers and herbs on the second floor deck, where I spend much of my time, knitting while listening to a book, and eating. I thought Julie the homeowner planted them. But I learned that the garden was a gift from a relative who stayed here before we arrived.

I don’t think Julie has seen her gift. Her scheduled vacation in March was canceled. I took pictures to send to her. I did plant some nursery plants that were here, waiting to be planted.

How do you thank someone who barely knows you, and opens their home to you, not realizing you may end up there for two months? We are trying to take the best care of the property that we can, but would still like to find something as nice as Julie’s gift.
