Blog Highlights

A few months ago, when talking to (texting) Matt, a young friend of mine, he said, “Oh yeah I forgot about the blog! I will check it out.” The blog already had over 150 entries. I’m not sure how much he read, because I didn’t hear from him again. I think it was overwhelming to... Continue Reading →

Day 289: Bokeelia, FL Windy and hot. Since the woodpecker won’t give up its romantic attraction to Arvi, we tried something more drastic. Tom sat near Arvi all day. Day 284: Bokeelia, FL Sunny and warm. Again, what is it about Arvi and birds? A couple weeks ago, Tom left the door open in Arvi and when he walked in he scared a mourning dove out of the rig. When mourning doves are startled, they equally startle us! Today, a pileated woodpecker hung around... Continue Reading →

Day 283: Bokeelia, FL Sunny and warm. Hot Boat Haul Out #2Someone asked me what we do to entertain ourselves. I said I knit and Tom looks around for things to fix. Tom agreed this is probably true. Tom has been studying the way the neighbors use their davits to keep their boats out of... Continue Reading →

Day 282: Bokeelia, FL Cloudy. It became sunnier later in the day. For evening sky viewing, the full moon was fierce competition for the sunset, which we are unable to view from the pier any more. The pier has been closed to everyone except a few paying fishermen.
