Day 98: Big Elk Campground, Harlan, OR

Sunny/foggy.

We had a nice drive over to Bend where we saw Mt. Washington in all its glory and several other snowcapped mountains. The fall color is quite beautiful around here, but mostly from shrubbery, not trees.

We met up with Kay and Don in time for lunch at a brewery in Sisters, OR. Then we visited their daughter and her family, and later that evening went to a brewery for dinner. Did I mention that Bend has 18 breweries? We hit four today, but at one we did not get anything to eat or drink because they were too busy. Kay got us “A Beer Treasure Atlas,” a passport for the Bend Ale Trail. Each brewery you visit stamps your atlas.
