Day 34: Seward, AK
Cloudy and cool.
We left Seward for Anchorage. In Anchorage we went to the Sportsman’s Warehouse and looked for shoes for Tom. No luck with his size.
Found a little park for lunch and watched a very long train go by.
We found the Alaska Botanical Gardens, where we reserved an overnight spot. To use the spot, we were expected to visit the gardens. We thought that would be fine, but they were $12 each. A campground with restrooms would have cost less. We did like the gardens though.
We met some of Tom’s friends from Ford who were on their way to the Katmai Peninsula to fish. This is the seventh year Bob has done the trip. Ed and Steve have been there before, too, and I’m not sure if Kurt has.
