Day 27: Chena Hot Springs Resort
Cloudy.
Tom fished the North Fork Chena River and a lake. He caught four Arctic grayling from the lake.
We drove back through Fairbanks and headed south toward Anchorage.
We stopped at an old gravel pit with lakes that we heard about to camp. Driving in, we encountered someone with his front tire stuck in the gravel. He waved and we stopped to help. He pulled out a chain and Tom towed his truck out of the stones. The wheel was stuck pretty bad, and he was having trouble with his clutch.
We had a couple beers with him then he was on his way. He had to be to work at a military base at 5 am and thought he should go while his car would still move forward.
