Day 26: Wickersham Dome Trailhead, AK

Smoky and foggy. The site we spent the night was very nice. In the morning, Tom was outside and got chatting with another couple who slept at the trailhead also.

Turns out Bill and Betty met at Michigan Tech as lab partners! We had so much to talk about. And they did the whole Dalton Highway plus the extra tour to the Arctic Ocean. So they filled us in on everything we missed.

We picked blueberries on the Wickersham trail.

Then we finished the drive back to Fairbanks, went to the library and used the WiFi.

We ended up at Chena Hot Springs Resort. These seemed to be real. They had a gravel bottom and large rocks around the sides and surrounded by treed hills. They were so relaxing! We soaked in the hot springs and went to bed.
