Day 293: Bokeelia, FL Sunny and warm. We went to Fort Myers to look at a boat that Ray (homeowner) is interested in buying. Just gave me a chance to don a mask and pick up a pizza and stop at the liquor store!

Day 292: Bokeelia, FL Cloudy, humid, chance of rain. First thing in the morning, we cut down some dead palm branches and got them ready for today’s pick up. I took a shower afterwards, but it was so humid that I was still wet after I dried off. I told Tom we had to face... Continue Reading →

Day 291: Bokeelia, FL Mostly sunny and humid. Maybe I needed a project. Maybe I just got too grouchy for Tom. But the hair sticking to my sweaty, sticky face had to go. It was a team effort. Tom buzzed the back with his hair buzzers and we cut the front with household scissors. It’s... Continue Reading →

Day 290 : Bokeelia, FL Mostly sunny, hot and humid. We slept in the house last night, since Arvi is all covered up and doesn’t get very good airflow. We only saw the woodpecker once yesterday, early in the morning. Maybe he’s giving up his love affair with the rig.

Day 289: Bokeelia, FL Windy and hot. Since the woodpecker won’t give up its romantic attraction to Arvi, we tried something more drastic. Tom sat near Arvi all day. Woody approached Arvi several times, but did not land on it. The neighbor biked by in the morning and asked Tom if this was woodpecker prophylactic.

Day 288: Bokeelia, FL Cloudy and hot. Resurrection SundayWe attended church at St Luke in Ann Arbor. It was a pretty nice service, they figured out how to get ten musicians and singers to perform together using Zoom. I’m wondering what happened to all those Easter lilies that nobody got to enjoy. Most of the... Continue Reading →

Day 287: Bokeelia, FL Cloudy and cool in the morning, giving way to hot and humid. The cute little pileated woodpecker has become a problem. It will not leave the van alone. We tried covering the windows and leaving a ladder next to the van, but that woodpecker is still fascinated with the van. Early... Continue Reading →

Day 286: Bokeelia, FL Partly sunny and humid. It was a hot and sticky morning, but ended up with a nice breeze and some clouds and cooler weather for the evening. We decided to try opening up the van for sleeping. The van is equipped with screens for the back doors and the side sliding... Continue Reading →

Day 285: Bokeelia, FL Sunny and hot. Julie’s GiftThere are some beautiful planters of flowers and herbs on the second floor deck, where I spend much of my time, knitting while listening to a book, and eating. I thought Julie the homeowner planted them. But I learned that the garden was a gift from a... Continue Reading →

Day 284: Bokeelia, FL Sunny and warm. Again, what is it about Arvi and birds? A couple weeks ago, Tom left the door open in Arvi and when he walked in he scared a mourning dove out of the rig. When mourning doves are startled, they equally startle us! Today, a pileated woodpecker hung around... Continue Reading →
