Day 206: Tickfaw State Park, LA
Sunny and cold.
We had bacon and eggs for breakfast for the first time on the trip. I covered the bacon with paper towels and cooked it in the microwave.
It’s nice to have electricity at the campsite. We can run ‘quiet’ heat.
The campground has a great nature center with live amphibians and reptiles.
We walked the boardwalk there through swamp, but it was too cold for any critters to be out.
We went to the library in Ponchatoula and did phone and computer updates and made some phone calls. Then we moved to another campground 30 miles east. We are on the “North Shore” of New Orleans’ Lake Pontchartrain.
We had dinner and a movie! Catfish, shrimp and Star Wars.
cute little critter…..it will be in the 70’s all week here with sunshine everyday, just sayin, lol

Makes me miss my family!! I don’t get back there until June. 😦 If you get to Slidell, there is a little place that was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, called L A Pines. They have the BEST muffuletta I’ve ever had. There are a lot of good places to eat there. When you get to New Orleans, be sure to go to the World War II museum. It’s fantastic. There are many fun and interesting things to see in New Orleans! Looks like the weather over the next week will be much improved from all that rain. Have a blast!!
