Day 155: Licon Dairy, San Elizario, TX

Sunny and cool.

We bought some asadero cheese at the Licon Dairy, just made this morning, and made quesadillas for breakfast. This is a white, mild, melting cheese that makes a very nice quesadilla.

The Licon Dairy was a very pleasant place to spend the night. We visited the animals at the petting zoo. Many animals came to greet us, like Roger the camel, a nice brown cow, donkeys, goats, a fat black pig.

Every now and then, we pass a border patrol station where everyone needs to stop. We have found these in California, Arizona, New Mexico, and now Texas. They all look like this.

Halfway to Big Bend, we stopped at Davis Mountains State Park for the night.

This park has a nice, quiet campground. We went for showers at 7:00 and it was BLACK as night could be outside.

    1. Funny, I never touch an animal I don’t know. I’m a little afraid. But I do love them! You should’ve seen me talking to the birds!
