Day 68: Ketchikan, AK

Last day in Alaska

Foggy and cool.

We drove north of Ketchikan and found a totem park, Totem Bight, and walked through it.

We are definitely in totem country.

We found a fishing spot so Tom could get one final shot at fishing in Alaska: Ward Lake. No luck.

There was a nice path around the lake with huge rain forest trees.

Here at the ferry terminal, we find out the ferry is an hour behind schedule. Could have tried the other stream at Ward Lake…..

Instead, we bought a fifth of Fireball for the evening. On our way to Kodiak a fellow passenger shared some with us and it really hit the spot, when Tom was feeling poorly and the Fireball helped his throat. We are now fans.

This is the same boat we took from Kodiak to Homer. The seas were much calmer so far.
