Day 43: Hornaday Campground, Homer, AK

Sunny and warm.

We relaxed at the campground until the 2:00 pm checkout.

We had lunch then went to Grace Ridge Brewing. A nice little brewery.

Went to the Alaska Islands and Ocean Visitor Center. They have a trail to the Bishop Creek, two movies, and I got my passport stamped for Lake Clark National Park.

We saw the famous Salty Dawg Saloon on the Homer Spit. It has dollar bills hanging all over and it smells like cigarette and a thrift store.

On the AMHS (ferry) to Kodiak!!

Fireweed

I’ve been enhancing many of my landscape photos with the ubiquitous fireweed.

It seems that all good things must come to an end. I am told this will turn to a nasty cotton plant and the darn stuff blows everywhere. I see it is starting.
