Day 31: Whittier, AK
Sunny, pleasant and warm.
Whittier is a large storage lot with a few tourist holes. I really liked the informality.
We checked out a few places in the Chugach National Forest and went to Seward.
Here in the Kenai Fjords National Park we did a hike to Exit Glacier. I was wearing my pink capris and there were wasps all over, many who found my large pink presence interesting. We walked faster and faster.
At the end of the walk we were pretty close to the glacier. It was windy and the wasps left us alone. The glacier is receding rapidly. My photo shows the glacier and the runoff created by both the glacier and the Harding Ice Field (you can see it at the top of the hill).

In Seward we found a salmon bake restaurant outside of town and the salmon was some of the best I’ve had. It was grilled and juicy.
We found some government special use land to camp on and are feet away from a creek created by aforementioned runoff. Pretty cool.
