Day 23: Fairbanks, AK
Sunny and warm.
We are taking Arvi to get the windshield replaced this morning. Arvi has trooped along pretty well. We have gone to car washes three times, and there is still some dust in crevices that we need to work on. The dusty roads in the Northwest were hard on us. We also had a zipper pull casualty, on the zip-in screen that covers the entire back of the vehicle, which we are trying to fix today. Other than that, this RV is working out well for us! We usually let one person at a time move around inside, while the other one stays out-of-the-way, making coffee or reading or doing something else useful.
Got the windshield replaced! It is so weird, no bugs or camera on it, it feels like there is no windshield at all!
I spent most of the day at the library doing compliance training for my brokerage license.
We visited Pioneer Village, a collection of small shops, food trucks, an entertainment venue, and a salmon bake. First we went to the beer tent (surprise, surprise) then strolled through the village. The cool thing about this place is most of the buildings were log cabins brought in from elsewhere in Fairbanks. Each had a sign saying from where the cabin came and its original use.
Later we had a wonderfully expensive dinner at Chena’s Alaskan Grill.
