Day 296: Bokeelia, FL Windy and warm. On our walk to the pier this morning we saw a dolphin in real shallow water swimming around. All of a sudden, it bolted towards the beach, to even shallower water. I haven’t seen anything like it. It made quite a swoosh in the water. I hope it... Continue Reading →

Day 295: Bokeelia, FL Sunny, humid and warm. We had a big Zoom party for my brother Jim’s birthday. It was so nice to see so many nieces and nephews. This is the fishing pier we walk to twice a day. See the golf cart? If you step on the pier, that golf cart will... Continue Reading →

Day 294: Bokeelia, FL Sunny and hot. We had an afternoon boat ride. Tom saw a manatee come up for air. It was the first time we (he) had seen a manatee in this area of Florida. Another new, thing for us was the horseshoe crabs. As we rode by a small beach we saw... Continue Reading →

Day 293: Bokeelia, FL Sunny and warm. We went to Fort Myers to look at a boat that Ray (homeowner) is interested in buying. Just gave me a chance to don a mask and pick up a pizza and stop at the liquor store!
Blog Highlights
A few months ago, when talking to (texting) Matt, a young friend of mine, he said, “Oh yeah I forgot about the blog! I will check it out.” The blog already had over 150 entries. I’m not sure how much he read, because I didn’t hear from him again. I think it was overwhelming to... Continue Reading →

Day 291: Bokeelia, FL Mostly sunny and humid. Maybe I needed a project. Maybe I just got too grouchy for Tom. But the hair sticking to my sweaty, sticky face had to go. It was a team effort. Tom buzzed the back with his hair buzzers and we cut the front with household scissors. It’s... Continue Reading →

Day 290 : Bokeelia, FL Mostly sunny, hot and humid. We slept in the house last night, since Arvi is all covered up and doesn’t get very good airflow. We only saw the woodpecker once yesterday, early in the morning. Maybe he’s giving up his love affair with the rig.

Day 289: Bokeelia, FL Windy and hot. Since the woodpecker won’t give up its romantic attraction to Arvi, we tried something more drastic. Tom sat near Arvi all day. Woody approached Arvi several times, but did not land on it. The neighbor biked by in the morning and asked Tom if this was woodpecker prophylactic.

Day 288: Bokeelia, FL Cloudy and hot. Resurrection SundayWe attended church at St Luke in Ann Arbor. It was a pretty nice service, they figured out how to get ten musicians and singers to perform together using Zoom. I’m wondering what happened to all those Easter lilies that nobody got to enjoy. Most of the... Continue Reading →
