March 17th
Left home and drove through heavy snowfall. Make it to Arcola Illinois. Still a cold 31 degrees here and forecast 18 degrees tonight. We didn’t expect that. Woke up to 14 degrees and a little snow on the ground. Buds on trees came out in Salem Illinois. Today is Bryant Arkansas and a little warmer. Leaving Bryant we ended up in Bryan Texas.

Next to Bryant Texas is College Station the home of Texas A&M so we drove through to look at the campus. They claim to have the largest student body in the country.

The point of coming down here was to see the wildflowers in bloom. We found Bluebonnets while traveling south between Dallas and Houston. This is a pretty good representation of what we saw. There were a couple fields bountiful with them. However they didn’t photograph well. The orange flowers are the Texas Indian Paint Brush.

So cool.
