Day 217: Selma St, Mobile, AL
Cloudy and cool.
So now we are in Mobile at our friend Katherine’s house. Katherine took us to the Flora-Bama bar on the state line. On the way we stopped at Montrose. Here is a round hut built by a man with tuberculosis who, given a year to live, moved from Idaho in 1926 and lived off the land 24 more years (I intend to read The Poet of Tolstoy Park, which tells the story of this hermit).
In Fairhope we saw some homes designed very creatively.
We enjoyed some pecan pie at a new restaurant just down the street from Katherine’s house. It was a day of exploring the Mobile Bay area.
the home is very unique…did you get to go in it???? looks very quaint…..always nice to meet up with friends! the pecan pie sounds wonderful!
