Day 176: Brazos Bend State Park, TX
Sunny and cool.
We had sausage, eggs and toast and relaxed with coffee, and didn’t leave the campground until noon!
I wanted to go through Schulenberg to see the nice painted churches. Turns out they are in four different communities, none in Schulenberg. We got off the exit and got back on the highway without seeing one.
I wanted to go to Shiner to visit the old craft brewery there. We decided to make that our Monday activity.
We picked Palmetto State Park to camp the next two nights. That will bring us to Christmas Eve. We have good plans for Christmas!
There was only room in the tent campground, which has no electric. Arvi can heat with electric or diesel. The diesel furnace can be loud. Loud is not allowed from 10 PM to 6 AM. That means we cannot use heat, with a low of 31.
Fortunately there are no tent campers here at all – just us and the camp hosts, who are pretty far down the road. They will never hear our noise – ha ha!
We walked a long time on the trails here. It was a beautiful afternoon.
Looks beautiful!!! I agree you must have warmth with temp only 31, they will never hear you…
