Day 38: Kasilof, AK
Sunny, warm and pleasant.
I am not a geologist, but I found a soapstone!
Looks just like a bar of soap, doesn’t it?
I am sitting here at the end of the day, after a couple glasses of 2011 Della Valpolicella wine, after enjoying a meal of chicken with Parmesan, tomato and basil pesto with truffle orzo and mushrooms with onions. I am so content.
We found this campsite early in the day in Ninilchik. There are only 14 campsites in the park and they are high on a bluff, overlooking the Cook Inlet and two volcanoes on the other side of the inlet, but it is very clear today and the volcanoes can be easily seen. We drove down to Anchor Point and Homer and came back up to this delightful spot.
Now did Grandma ever wear the Old English D on a ball cap?
